Terms of Service

Overview

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Unscribe — including our web app, Chrome extension, and any related services (together, the “Service”) — provided by Alladdin Labs Pty Ltd (“Unscribe”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Accounts & eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Unscribe. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

• Accurate information — you agree to provide accurate account details and keep them up to date.
• One account per person — accounts are personal to you and may not be shared or transferred.
• Notify us — tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

Subscription & billing

Unscribe is a paid subscription service billed monthly through Stripe, our payment processor. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

• Pricing — current pricing is shown on our pricing page and may change with reasonable notice.
• Renewals — your subscription renews automatically each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancellation — you can cancel anytime from Settings. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period; we don't provide partial refunds for unused time.
• Reactivation — after a cancelled billing period ends, access is locked but your data remains saved for six months so you can reopen the plan and resume monthly billing without starting over.
• Failed payments — if a payment fails, we'll retry and notify you. After repeated failed attempts, your account may be locked until payment is resolved.
• Taxes — prices may not include applicable taxes, which Stripe calculates and adds where required.

We never see or store your full card details — Stripe handles payment processing directly.

Free trial

New accounts start with a free trial period, as shown at signup. Your card may be required upfront, and your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan and be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.

We reserve the right to modify, limit, or end the trial offer at any time, including for accounts we reasonably believe are abusing the trial.

AI features

Unscribe uses AI (including the Unscribe AI lookup and Ask Unscribe assistant) to search public pricing pages, summarise plan details, and answer questions about your spending.

• Best-effort accuracy — AI-generated pricing, plan details, and recommendations are provided for convenience and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Always confirm pricing with the provider before making a purchasing decision.
• Not financial advice — insights, savings suggestions, and cancel recommendations are informational only and don't constitute financial, legal, or tax advice.
• Your inputs — questions and data you provide to the AI features are used to generate your response and to operate and improve the Service, in line with our Privacy Policy.

Chrome extension

The Unscribe Chrome extension detects subscription and pricing information on pages you visit while it's active, so you can track a subscription in one click. It only acts on pages you choose to view and does not run in the background collecting unrelated browsing data.

You can disable or uninstall the extension at any time from your browser's extension settings; doing so won't affect your web app account.

Bank statement uploads

You may optionally upload a bank or card statement so Unscribe can identify recurring charges for you to confirm and add. This is entirely optional — Unscribe never connects directly to your bank or requires your banking credentials.

• Processed, never stored — your statement is read in memory only to detect recurring charges. As soon as the AI finishes extracting subscriptions, the uploaded file is discarded. We do not save, archive, or retain the PDF on our servers.
• The information extracted is used only to suggest subscriptions for you to confirm and add — for no other purpose.
• You're responsible for only uploading statements you have the right to share, and for redacting information you don't want processed.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, our systems, or data.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
• Upload malicious files or content that infringes someone else's rights.
• Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties without our written consent.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Intellectual property

Unscribe and its branding, design, and underlying software are owned by Alladdin Labs Pty Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your personal or business use, subject to these Terms.

You retain ownership of the subscription data you enter. You grant us a licence to process that data solely to provide and improve the Service.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We don't guarantee that renewal alerts, price-change detection, or AI-sourced pricing will be timely, complete, or error-free. You remain responsible for managing your own subscriptions and payments.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alladdin Labs Pty Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. If you cancel a paid Unscribe subscription, your access continues until the end of the current paid billing cycle. After that date, access is locked unless you reactivate.

When a cancelled paid subscription is not reactivated, we retain your account data for six months after the paid access period ends so you can return with your subscriptions, projects, alerts, transactions, and notes intact. If you do not reactivate within that six-month window, your account data is scheduled for deletion.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably possible. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia, except where applicable local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app. Continuing to use Unscribe after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
