Privacy Policy

Overview

Unscribe (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a subscription management service that helps you track your recurring payments, receive renewal reminders, and understand your spending. We are operated by Alladdin Labs Pty Ltd, based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Unscribe — including our web app, Chrome extension, and any related services — how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your data.

Data we collect

Information you provide

• Account details — your name and email address when you sign up.
• Subscription records — the subscription name, cost, billing cycle, renewal date, and category you enter or confirm in the app.
• Profile settings — your currency, notification preferences, and any other settings you configure.

Information we collect automatically

• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the app.
• Error data — technical information collected via Sentry when something goes wrong.
• Session cookies — required for authentication. See the Cookies section for detail.

What we do not collect

• Payment card numbers, bank account details, or financial credentials.
• Your bank transaction history. Unscribe does not connect to your bank account.
• Sensitive personal information such as government IDs, health data, or biometrics.

How we use your data

We use the information we collect only to operate, maintain, and improve Unscribe. Specifically, we use your data to:

• Provide the core service — storing your subscriptions and showing your spending overview.
• Send renewal reminders, trial-ending alerts, and price-change notifications you've opted into.
• Power the Unscribe AI lookup feature, which searches public pricing pages for plan and pricing details.
• Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure and reliable.
• Respond to your support requests and communicate important service updates.

We process this data on the basis of providing the service you signed up for, our legitimate interest in improving it, and your consent where required (for example, marketing emails).

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies, kept to what's strictly necessary:

• Authentication cookies — required to keep you signed in securely. Without these, the service can't work.
• Preference cookies — remember settings like your currency and theme.
• No tracking — we do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may sign you out and disable parts of the app.

How we share data

We do not sell your personal data — ever. We share data only with the service providers we rely on to run Unscribe, and only to the extent needed:

• Supabase — secure database and authentication hosting for your account and subscription records.
• Stripe — payment processing for your Unscribe subscription. Stripe handles your card details directly; we never see or store them.
• Sentry — error monitoring to help us fix bugs quickly.
• Email provider — to deliver renewal reminders and account notifications.

Each provider is bound by its own data-processing agreement. We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Unscribe and its users.

Your rights

You're in control of your data. At any time you can:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct — update inaccurate account or subscription information directly in the app.
• Export — download your subscription data from Settings.
• Delete — delete your account and all associated data permanently, with no waiting period.
• Object — opt out of non-essential emails and processing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, use the controls in Settings or email info@alladdinco.com. As an Australian business we comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, and we honour GDPR rights for users in the EU and UK.

Data security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, scoped access controls, and row-level security on our database so you can only ever access your own records. Authentication is handled by Supabase using industry-standard practices.

No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information and will notify affected users promptly if a breach ever affects their personal data, as required by law.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel a paid Unscribe subscription, you keep access until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account is locked but your subscriptions, projects, alerts, transactions, and notes remain saved for six months so you can reactivate without starting over.

If you do not reactivate within six months after cancelled access ends, your account data is scheduled for deletion. Reactivating before then clears that deletion schedule and resumes monthly billing.

When you delete your account yourself, your personal data and subscription records are permanently removed from our production systems, with residual copies cleared from encrypted backups within 30 days.

We may retain a minimal amount of information where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes — and only for as long as necessary.

Children's privacy

Unscribe is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app. Continuing to use Unscribe after a change means you accept the revised policy.
